The Black

Agenda

Our future protests and behind the scenes efforts will be geared towards achieving these goals.

We have screamed until our voices went hoarse. We have collectively walked hundreds of miles in the scorching heat. Now is the time we must ask ourselves “What things can we change in our system to truly improve our lives?”

This is out three point plan on how to improve the lives of not only black people, but all people who are disproportionately affected by the current system in place.

These are programs that may no show overnight results, but the benefit they will provide to our nation as a whole will be blatantly visible as time goes by with the coming generations. It is time to think past only ourselves and the happenings today. We must properly educate, protect and preserve our collective human legacy: the youth.

Step One.

The U.S. is ranked 14th worldwide in financial literacy. Our rate of financial literacy is the same as Botswana’s, a nation with an economy % 10000 smaller than ours.

Financial literacy must be taught in ALL public schools from grades K-12. The gap in racial economic equity cannot be closed until all citizens are taught how the financial system works.

Step Two.

We demand that the tech giants of Silicon Valley form a coalition that would create an annual fund for new, low-income public housing project. Should they refuse, we demand that the city government impose new corporate tax that would fund that same purpose. A demand for increased funds and effort towards affordable housing.

Part Three.

Covid- 19 has shed light on many social issues. Due to many students having to attend school through online courses now, internet must be considered a basic human right. The lack of internet access will disproportionately affect people of color. A lesser educated youth will adversely affect our nation.

We demand that free internet access be provided to all people.
